Is anyone there?

December 21, 2023

I may not be here in body, but I’m here in Christmas Spirit, thanks to the power of marketing automation.

And so can you be. Even should. Because consistency is key when it comes to content marketing.

With a consistent schedule people get used to seeing you, even look forward to it:

·  It helps develop trust and credibility

·  It keeps them engaged

·  It enables you to measure what people are interested in

·  It gives you a platform to educate and inform your clients

(And we know that the FCA loves all of the above with its Consumer Duty shenanigans.)

The great thing is that simply showing up can lead to repeat business.

Take these three responses to some recent email newsletters:

The truth is, what gets people to respond to you isn't necessarily down to receiving the perfect post, but simply being top of mind when a financial need arises.

But first, you need a plan

The trick is to create a content calendar outlining what type of content you'll publish and when.

Then schedule your emails ahead of time using your email marketing platform. Set, forget, and get back to the party.

However, that’s not to say I’ll be in your inbox next week, as that would be completely mad.

Happy Christmas, thanks for reading, and see you next year!

Christmas backdrop

Liven up your festive video calls this year with one of the BBC’s empty Christmas TV sets. (Just skip past the 5 options for Mike Yarwood’s Christmas Show to get to the good ones.)

Second life

The FT’s Working It podcast episode ‘Has retirement had its day’ explores the science of flourishing in later life, and what older brains can do that younger ones can’t.

Stocking up

It was satsuma and a magic growing tree in my day. But according to a poll commissioned by Ryman, it now costs an average of £60 to fill a Christmas stocking. Phewee.

Happy holidays

Get me in your inbox, every Friday.
