Why it’s good to espresso yourself ☕️
We know it can make you more alert, but did you know that caffeine can also make you more open to persuasion?
Scientist Pearl Martin carried out an experiment where she served cups of orange juice to participants. Half were spiked with caffeine – around the amount you might find in two cups of espresso.
Shortly after drinking the juice, all participants read a series of messages containing arguments for a certain position on a controversial topic.
Those who had consumed the caffeinated orange juice were 35% more favourably disposed towards that position than those who drank the un-spiked drink.
So perhaps meetings are better off taking place in the morning, when your client or prospect might just have had their morning coffee fix?

Dozens of British sayings are at risk of extinction a survey of adults under 50 has suggested. Top of the list are ‘pearls before swine’, ‘nail your colours to the mast’ and ‘a stitch in time saves nine’. Goodbye Mary Poppins language.
