Happy Monday. Apologies for being late.

I got caught up in last week's deadlines, brought on partly by the Budget and the special days. Sometimes you wait ages for inspiration and then, like buses, they all pile in at once: International Womens' Day, World Book Day, Mother's Day... it was a bit like being on a news desk.

In other words: exciting.

It reminded me of my brief career in journalism, which began in the late 90s. My first taste of it was fairly underwhelming, but a mistake I made taught me an important lesson, as you can read about in this piece I wrote about it in 2016.
